Sunset School Weight Room Improvements

In 2013, students in the Sunset Student Organizing Committee (SSOC) out of Sunset High School in Crescent City, organized for improvements to their weight room. The weight room was in poor shape - equipment was outdated, broken, and kept together with duct tape, and the building itself had not been kept up well. Students held the district accountable for updating their weight room facility and brought light to the inequities that exist between the comprehensive Del Norte High School and the alternative high school.
